If a publication has yet to be printed,  high precision bar code artwork can be provided to printers/graphic designers, so they include the symbol within the cover design. To create an ISBN Bookland EAN symbol, we require the following information:

  1. ISBN Number - Each unique book product must be assigned a separate ISBN number. This is a 10-digit number assigned by the ISBN Agency.  If you do not yet have ISBN numbers for your publications, please contact our numbering assistance department at 800-662-0701 x240 or visit www.isbn-us.com .

  2. Pricing Information - Adjacent to the main bar code is a smaller symbol containing  the 5-digit pricing information. This information either reflects the retail price or indicates "no pricing information" (90000). For a detailed explanation of price encodation options, click here.

  3. Size of the symbol (Magnification) - The standard 92% symbol needs a total area of 2.00" x 1.25". The smaller ISBN Bookland EAN symbol is an 80%, which needs a total area of 1.75" x 1.0". 

  4. Bar Width Reduction - (Optional data required) One of the aspects which make EPSymbolstm unique is the compensation factor built-in for ink spread. Normally, this information can be provided by a printer. If this information is unknown, do not worry. Both our online program and customer service agents can ascertain the appropriate reduction required.

  5. Format  - To provide the best possible preview of the digital barcode, we need to know if it is for either a PC or MAC.

  6. Delivery - Electronic files can be emailed within a few hours or provided on disk. We produce all artwork the same day as received. Film Masters can be shipped via mail, UPS, or FEDEX. International shipping is also available. Barcodes produced via www.createbarcodes.com are e-mailed instantly.
