Since many retailers and manufacturers are requiring trading partners to embrace EDI technology, the necessity for compliant shipping labels has increased. Consequently, suppliers are required to furnish shipping labels which meet both the GS1's guidelines and specific requirements established by individual retailer trading partners, or else they may be subject to offset expenses for non-compliance. The BCG Testing Center provides comprehensive evaluations for barcoded shipping labels. All of our testing services are designed to enable suppliers’ to 100% comply with retail barcoding requirements.

If your company would like to avoid barcode related chargebacks from trading partners, or is in need of assistance eliminating the causes for existing chargebacks, then you may want to consider submitting barcode samples to Bar Code Graphics, Inc. for testing. Our testing services include:

  • ISO/ ANSI Bar Code Print Quality Analysis for each symbol.
  • Label Format review to ensure compliance with ANSI MH10.8.2 shipping label requirements. For retailers who have designated Bar Code Graphics as their 3rd party testing facility we are able to provide instant updates to retailers regarding supplier compliance and certification.
  • Barcode symbol, and label placement recommendations.
  • Review of materials being used to generate symbols.

All individual tests must be prepaid either with check or credit card.

GS1-128 Chargeback Resolution Assistance

In addition to performing barcode certification services, Bar Code Graphics offers assistance with resolving barcode related chargebacks. Rather than creating a combative situation with your largest clients/trading partners, Bar Code Graphics will review barcode related chargebacks on your behalf. As a qualified 3rd party ISO/ANSI Bar Code Print Quality Testing Center we offer unbiased opinions regarding chargebacks. In addition to determining the validity of a specific chargeback, we provide recommended corrective actions to prevent future ones.

Specifically we will:

  • Review the chargeback issued to your company for a specific shipment and provide our expert opinion regarding the validity of the charge.
  • If needed, provide a list of additional support information required to validate the charge.
  • Examine the barcode analysis provided by your trading partner to determine if the 'failing' grade could have been caused by improper use of the verification equipment or damage caused in-transit.

BCG Chargeback Resolution Fees – Our initial review of a chargeback for a specific shipment, including a review of all support documentation is performed for our Standard Testing fee of; $75.00.

Additional fees may be required for companies who contract Bar Code Graphics to formulate a dispute, or to negotiate a reduction for a specific chargeback. However, Bar Code Graphics can make no guarantees that charges will be reversed. Additional fees will be quoted upon request after we perform initial review.

  • Chargeback resolution service is not available for charges issued by; Sears Holding, Kohls, JCPenney or The Sports Authority
  • Chargeback Resolution fees can be combined with BCG Testing packages listed above.
